Mental Math


  • 2:30-3:30pm (K-1st grade & 2nd-4th grade)

Mental math comprises arithmetical calculations using only the human brain, with no help from calculators, computers, or pen and paper. It not only enables a student to quickly yield the correct computation result, but also extend a student’s concentration span and depth. Our curriculum design makes the class fun and rewarding, keeping the students interest by engage them in games and activities.

English Writing

  • 4:30-5:30pm (5th-6th grade)

The “writers lab” teaches essential grammar rules, expands written and spoken vocabulary and develops good writing skills through student practice and sharing. The curriculum is designed to support each student’s current grade level writing expectations.

Java, C/C++, Python, Perl, and more interesting programming skills can be now acquired at Grace School. In the class, our teacher actively interacts with the students. Each of the student receives clear guide and attention from the instructor to finish their projects. Our instructor is a professional engineer, and he bring practical projects to the class so that our student can experience the real life programming.

Public Speaking & Debate

Public Speaking: Many people are afraid to stand in front of an audience. This is a very valuable tool to learn at a young age. People who are confident speaking to others are most likely to reach their education and work potential later in life. Students in this class will learn to write and deliver speeches and presentations, and will gain confidence in front of their peers.

Debate: Debate improves researching skills, thinking strategies, and public speaking talents. Students will learn to craft arguments and speak to an audience. The rules of debate will be outlined and this class will help prepare students who want to join their school debate teams in the future.

Drama classes for children can be a fun, structured activity for kids ready to build skills in public speaking and dramatic play. If your child’s been bitten by the acting bug, you’re in luck, Ms. Kate’s drama class to help them make their debut!

Reading Corner

Young students getting ready for school will improve their reading comprehension, increase their vocabulary, and begin to recognize sight words in this interactive early introduction to reading. A jump start on this important skill is vital to a child’s academic success at every grade level.

The two Art classes focus on two different areas. The water color class engages the younger age children in the colorful world. The use of the color largely expends the children’s creativity. On the other hand, sketch class builds corner stones for a student’s drawing skill. It emphasizes the shapes and angles, brightness and darkness, and other important concepts of drawing.

Kung Fu Class

  • Thursday 5:10-6:10pm

Coach Huang Qin will teach Kung Fu at Grace School every Tuesday 5:10-6:10pm.

Coach Huang Qing began studying martial arts at age 8, she is a professional Kung Fu athlete with over 26 years of professional experience, and has competed in numerous National Wushu Championships in China.

Coach Huang Qin earned a Bachelor Degree of Arts in Chinese Traditional Sports at Shanghai Sports University. She is a former professor of Kung Fu at Ningbo University in Zhejiang. Coach Huang Qin has many Kung Fu students. Some of them have won lots of awards from both China and US in Kung Fu competitions.

Does your child love to play chess? Please join our class and meet other kids who share the same passion. Applying Montessori’s method of teach-based learning, children will play and play. By playing a lot, the students will learn how to improve their techniques. Lessons are based on looking at the students’ game to find suggestions for improvement. Students also take part in competition to test their skills.
